Occupational Therapy

About Occupational Therapy (OT)

OT focuses on enabling individuals of all ages to participate in everyday tasks that support their physical, psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing. These occupations include self-care, work, education, leisure, and community participation.

In the context of mental health, Occupational Therapy helps individuals experiencing psychiatric conditions to develop, maintain, or regain functional skills, enhance coping strategies, improve daily living abilities, and achieve a meaningful and productive life. OT practitioners use therapeutic activities, environmental modification, adaptive strategies, and vocational rehabilitation to support recovery and reintegration into society.
