A Heartfelt Gesture of Gratitude That Bridges Generations and Continents

By Van Jelly James Mankhokwe Jan 23, 2026
Today, we pause to celebrate an act of kindness that reminds us why service, gratitude, and humanity remain at the heart of healthcare.

We extend our sincere and heartfelt appreciation to a generous gentleman originally from Namadidi, now residing in Canada, for his remarkable donation of linen to our Paying Ward. The donation includes bedsheets, pillowcases, duvets, curtains, and laces items that will go a long way in enhancing patient comfort and dignity.

What makes this gesture especially meaningful is the story behind it. In the 1990s, the donor’s father received medical care at our hospital. Decades later, that experience has inspired a powerful act of gratitude proof that compassionate care leaves a lasting impact that transcends time and borders.

We also wish to give special recognition to his daughter, who represented the family and officially handed over the donation in Maputo. Her presence and commitment symbolize the family’s deep appreciation and trust in our institution. We are truly grateful for her role in making this contribution possible.

As a hospital, we take this responsibility seriously. We are committed to safeguarding and properly utilizing this valuable donation to further improve the quality of care and comfort we provide to our patients.

To our donor and his family: thank you for believing in us, remembering us, and supporting us. Your kindness strengthens our resolve to serve with excellence and compassion.

Together, let us continue to spread love, gratitude, and hope ❤️
